11 NOVEMBER 2018<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"m_-5185685164118173286aolmail_MsoNormal\"><b><i>\u201cIf it&#8217;s Early Music you&#8217;re looking for, then get yourself down to Brighton\u201d<\/i><\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 Classic FM<\/div>\n<div class=\"m_-5185685164118173286aolmail_MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"m_-5185685164118173286aolmail_MsoNormal\">Brighton Early Music Festival is bringing 700 years of music from 17 European countries to Brighton this autumn*.\u00a0 Taking its inspiration from a somewhat topical theme, the 2018 Festival explores Britain\u2019s long and often tempestuous relationship with the rest of the European continent from medieval times onwards.\u00a0 Artistic Director\u00a0<b>Deborah Roberts<\/b>\u00a0says:\u00a0<i>\u201cIn this of all years it seems only right to celebrate and explore Britain\u2019s relationship with Europe over the centuries, through programmes highlighting important events, collaborations and even conflicts of the past.\u00a0 Some of these stories will have a striking familiarity, and we are hoping to spark stimulating discussion and a sense of exploration as well as presenting a glorious selection of music from around Europe.\u201d<\/i><\/div>\n<div class=\"m_-5185685164118173286aolmail_MsoNormal\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"m_-5185685164118173286aolmail_MsoNormal\">Festival highlights include music from the 13<sup>th<\/sup>-century Lewes Priory Breviary performed by Spanish ensemble\u00a0<b>Resonet\u00a0<\/b>and BREMF Community Choir (St Bartholomew\u2019s Church, 28<sup>\u00a0<\/sup>October); music by Reformation Remainers Tallis and Byrd from\u00a0<b>BREMF Consort of Voices\u00a0<\/b>(St Bartholomew\u2019s Church, 10 November); festive music for an 18<sup>th<\/sup>-century\u00a0 Swedish royal wedding (St George\u2019s Church, 2 November);
