English National Opera (ENO) is delighted to announce the casts for\u00a0Acis and Galatea\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Paul Bunyan<\/em>, 2018\u2019s two ENO Studio Live productions. ENO Studio Live forms part of ENO Outside which takes ENO\u2019s work to arts-engaged audiences that may not have considered opera before, presenting the immense power of opera in more intimate studio and theatre environments.<\/p>\n

Acis and Galatea<\/em>\u00a0will take place at ENO\u2019s historic rehearsal studios, Lilian Baylis House.\u00a0Paul Bunyan<\/em>\u00a0will be ENO\u2019s first collaboration with Wilton\u2019s Music Hall. Both pieces are being performed by ENO for the very first time and celebrate the integral roles that Handel and Britten have played in the company\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

We are also thrilled to share that exceptional young singers\u00a0Rowan Pierce<\/strong>,\u00a0Alex Otterburn<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0William Morgan<\/strong>\u00a0will become\u00a0ENO Harewood Artists<\/strong>\u00a0with immediate effect.\u00a0The ENO Harewood Artist programme\u00a0was established in 1998 as a means of providing a full-time training and performance scheme for exceptionally talented singers at the beginning of their careers.\u00a0They will join current ENO Harewood Artists\u00a0Andri Bj\u00f6rn R\u00f3bertsson<\/strong>,\u00a0Katie Coventry<\/strong>,\u00a0Eleanor Dennis<\/strong>,\u00a0Matthew Durkan<\/strong>,\u00a0David Ireland<\/strong>,\u00a0Rhian Lois<\/strong>,\u00a0Elgan Llyr Thomas<\/strong>,\u00a0Soraya Mafi<\/strong>,\u00a0Samantha Price<\/strong>,\u00a0Bo\u017eidar Smiljani<\/strong>?<\/strong>,\u00a0Katie Stevenson<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0David Webb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Directed by\u00a0Sarah Tipple<\/strong>, designed by\u00a0Justin Nardella<\/strong>\u00a0and conducted by\u00a0Nicholas Ansdell Evans<\/strong>,\u00a0Acis and Galatea\u00a0<\/em>features four exciting young British singers. Tenor\u00a0Alexander Sprague<\/strong>\u00a0and soprano\u00a0Lucy Hall<\/strong>\u00a0sing the title roles. ENO Harewood Artist\u00a0Matthew Durkan<\/strong>\u00a0sings the role of Polyphemus and\u00a0Bradley Smith<\/strong>makes his ENO debut as Damon.<\/p>\n

Directed by\u00a0Jamie Manton<\/strong>, designed by\u00a0Camilla Clarke<\/strong>\u00a0and conducted by\u00a0Matthew Kofi Waldren<\/strong>,\u00a0Paul Bunyan\u00a0<\/em>will be a celebration of ENO\u2019s exceptional emerging and in-house talent. Roles will be sung by ENO Harewood Artists (Elgan Llyr<\/strong>\u00a0Thomas<\/strong>,\u00a0Rowan Pierce<\/strong>,\u00a0William Morgan<\/strong>) and members of ENO\u2019s award-winning Chorus.<\/p>\n
