{"id":3475,"date":"2017-03-15T07:47:57","date_gmt":"2017-03-15T07:47:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.larkreviews.co.uk\/?p=3475"},"modified":"2017-03-15T07:47:57","modified_gmt":"2017-03-15T07:47:57","slug":"eno-studio-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.larkreviews.wickedlemon.co.uk\/?p=3475","title":{"rendered":"ENO Studio Live"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ENO showcases emerging talent with UK premiere of Jonathan Dove\u2019s <em>The Day After <\/em>and Gilbert and Sullivan\u2019s <em>Trial by Jury<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ENO is pleased to announce ENO Studio Live, a new initiative which offers audiences the opportunity to experience the power of our forces and a team of world-class soloists in an intimate studio environment.<\/p>\n<p>ENO Studio Live will showcase the company\u2019s exceptional emerging and in-house talent, from members of ENO\u2019s award winning Chorus and Orchestra to our Staff Directors, Harewood Artists and Music Staff.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative will launch with the UK premiere of Jonathan Dove\u2019s <em>The Day After<\/em>, performed for the first time in a new choral version, and performances of Gilbert and Sullivan\u2019s <em>Trial by Jury.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>These performances will welcome audiences to ENO\u2019s historic rehearsal studios, Lilian Baylis House, in West Hampstead. Formerly the site of the West Hampstead Town Hall, and named after ENO\u2019s founder, Lilian Baylis House was once the Decca Recording Studios and hosted many classical recording sessions alongside albums by <em>Fleetwood Mac <\/em>and <em>David Bowie.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the initiative, ENO\u2019s Artistic Director Daniel Kramer commented: \u201cWe strive to present world-class opera at ENO. This is made possible by the brilliant work of my exceptionally talented colleagues &#8211; many of whom are emerging artists in their own right.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy own opera career was launched at the Young Vic in 2008 when ENO took a risk and gave me the chamber opera, <em>Punch and Judy<\/em>. It is a priority for me, therefore, to ensure we develop our emerging artists by providing platforms and opportunities for them to experiment and develop their own craft.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am delighted to launch\u00a0ENO Studio Live &#8211; an opportunity for us to provide more opportunities for rising talent within the British opera scene. Audiences will have the rare opportunity to hear an impressive array of soloists alongside members of our award-winning Chorus and Orchestra performing in an intimate studio setting.
