Garsington Opera\u2019s 2015 production of\u00a0Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/i>\u00a0will have free screenings in three coastal communities\u00a0Louth (5 July), Grimsby (29 Sept) and Ramsgate (Oct), as well as in Oxford (2 July) and Waddesdon (3 September).\u00a0 Their 2014 production of Offenbach\u2019s\u00a0Vert-Vert<\/i>\u00a0will also be screened at Marlow Festival (14 June).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

These free public screenings, together with extensive education projects, are part of the Garsington Opera for All programme, set up by Magna Vitae and the Coastal Communities Alliance after a successful bid made in the autumn to Arts Council England.<\/p>\n

Garsington Opera for All\u00a0 will work with secondary and primary schools for a week in each area where the film will be screened.\u00a0\u00a0 Each project will see the young people developing their own short opera based on the themes of\u00a0Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/i>, devising and composing their own production and their residency will end in a performance to the school. All the participants will come to the screening of the opera.\u00a0 On the day of the opera screening Garsington Opera will work with up to 40 adults from the community to learn and explore themes on\u00a0Cos\u00ec fan tutte,\u00a0<\/i>to produce a 5-10 minute promenade performance.<\/p>\n

Garsington Opera\u2019s production of\u00a0Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/i>\u00a0features international star\u00a0Lesley Garrett<\/b>\u00a0in the role of Despina, Romanian soprano\u00a0Andreea Soare<\/b>\u00a0(making her UK debut)and\u00a0Kathryn Rudge\u00a0<\/b>in the roles of\u00a0<\/b>Fiordiligi and Dorabella.\u00a0 The award-winning Irish tenor\u00a0Robin Tritschler\u00a0<\/b>(Ferrando) and\u00a0Ashley Riches<\/b>\u00a0(Guglielmo), a former Jette Parker Young Artist, allow themselves to be drawn into the intrigues of their cynical friend Don Alfonso, sung by Welsh bass-baritone\u00a0Neal Davies<\/b>, who persuades them to put the love of their fianc\u00e9es to the test. Garsington Opera Artistic Director\u00a0Douglas Boyd<\/b>conducts,\u00a0John Fulljames<\/b>, Associate Director of Opera at the Royal Opera House directs and\u00a0Dick Bird<\/b>\u00a0designs.<\/p>\n
