{"id":2259,"date":"2015-04-08T09:17:26","date_gmt":"2015-04-08T08:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.larkreviews.co.uk\/?p=2259"},"modified":"2015-04-08T09:17:26","modified_gmt":"2015-04-08T08:17:26","slug":"bath-camerata-announce-the-appointment-of-their-new-musical-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.larkreviews.wickedlemon.co.uk\/?p=2259","title":{"rendered":"Bath Camerata announce the appointment of their new Musical Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Award-winning chamber choir,\u00a0Bath Camerata, are thrilled to announce that\u00a0Benjamin Goodson\u00a0has been appointed as their new Musical Director.\u00a0 Described by composer and choral conductor Paul Spicer as \u201c<i>unequivocally one of the most naturally gifted conductors I have encountered\u201d,\u00a0<\/i>Benjamin\u00a0joins the choir in time for their summer season, taking over from their founding musical director of 28 years, Nigel Perrin, who stepped aside after the choir\u2019s acclaimed Good Friday concert in Wells Cathedral.\u00a0Educated at Hertford College, Oxford, Benjamin won Oxford University\u2019s most coveted conducting prize and now enjoys a blossoming career as a conductor, choir trainer and chorus master.\u00a0\u00a0Aside from Bath Camerata, Benjamin also conducts\u00a0three other choirs, a variety of ensembles and will be making his debut at the Dorset Opera Festival in July.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.larkreviews.wickedlemon.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Benjamin-Goodson.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2260\" alt=\"Benjamin Goodson\" src=\"https:\/\/www.larkreviews.wickedlemon.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Benjamin-Goodson.jpg\" width=\"184\" height=\"184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.larkreviews.wickedlemon.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Benjamin-Goodson.jpg 184w, https:\/\/www.larkreviews.wickedlemon.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Benjamin-Goodson-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 184px) 100vw, 184px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On his appointment Benjamin said \u201cI am delighted to have been chosen as Bath Camerata\u2019s musical director.\u00a0 Listening to their recordings and hearing them in my audition, it was very clear to me what an excellent group of musicians this is.
