The BBC has today unveiled ten pieces of music which will act as a gateway to children learning more about classical music and inspire them to use music as a stimulus for their own creativity.<\/p>\n
Ten Pieces is an ambitious new initiative for primary schools, which aims to inspire a generation of children to get creative with classical music. With a range of online resources, UK-wide events and close collaboration with partners, every primary school across the UK will have the opportunity to take part.<\/p>\n
The ten pieces were announced at the launch of\u00a0BBC Music<\/b>, as the BBC renewed its commitment to music and announced a series of initiatives, including support for emerging talent, digital innovations, landmark programmes and live events.<\/p>\n

John Adams: Short Ride in a Fast Machine<\/span><\/p>\n Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 (1st movement)<\/span><\/p>\n Britten: ‘Storm’ Interlude from ‘Peter Grimes’<\/span><\/p>\n Grieg: In the Hall of the Mountain King from ‘Peer Gynt’<\/span><\/p>\n Handel: Zadok the Priest<\/span><\/p>\n Holst: Mars from ‘The Planets’<\/span><\/p>\n Anna Meredith: Connect It<\/span><\/p>\n Mozart: Horn Concerto No. 4 (3rd movement)<\/span><\/p>\n Mussorgsky: A Night on the Bare Mountain<\/span><\/p>\n Stravinsky: The Firebird \u00ad suite (1911) (Finale)<\/span><\/p>\n Players from the\u00a0BBC Concert Orchestra<\/b>\u00a0will perform a medley of the pieces on\u00a0BBC Radio 3<\/b>‘s drive-time show,\u00a0In Tune<\/b>, today [16 June] from 4:30pm.
