A true \u2018concert spirituel\u2019, the two works &#8211; so rich in human and spiritual drama &#8211; powerfully evoke the Stations of the Cross and result in a work of searing emotional impact.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Dupr\u00e9\u2019s organ work originated from a concert at the Brussels Conservatoire in 1931: Claudel\u2019s poems were recited, and after each Dupr\u00e9 improvised a musical commentary depicting the events of each station.
