In this First World War centenary year, a special commemorative day on 5 July,\u00a0Peace in our Time<\/i>? will focus on Fidelio\u2019s libertarian ideas and will feature talks, master classes, a recital by cellist Steven Isserlis and much more.\u00a0 It will culminate in a commemorative concert including Beethoven\u2019s\u00a09th<\/sup>\u00a0Symphony<\/i>, with the Garsington Opera Orchestra on stage for the very first time.<\/div>\n

For the third year running, East Lindsey District Council will relay a Garsington Opera production on to the beach at Skegness as part of the SO Festival.\u00a0 In 2014 it will be Offenbach\u2019s\u00a0Vert-Vert<\/i>.<\/div>\n

YOUNG ARTISTS PROGRAMME<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
As part of the West Green House opera season, young singers from the Garsington Opera Emerging Artists programme will present a revival of the acclaimed 2013 production of Humperdinck\u2019s\u00a0H\u00e4nsel und Gretel<\/i>\u00a0on 26 & 27 July 2014.\u00a0 Director Olivia Fuchs\u2019 refreshing interpretation will feature some of the brightest and best of Garsington Opera\u2019s young singers, including many who have sung in the chorus or understudied in the main season.<\/div>\n
